Why CBD Cigarettes Are A Great Choice To Stop Smoking
There are now more than ever a veritable tonne of products on the market featuring CBD as a selling point. It’s done wonders for the health and wellness industry where CBD is being touted by many for its anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety effects. But there is another related product that may be coming into its own to help quit tobacco and that’s CBD cigarettes.
CBD cigarettes are a relatively recent phenomenon, but smoking cannabis in place of tobacco is nothing new. For quite a long time, people have turned to cannabis to help them wean themselves away from tobacco. Lots of people find that the biggest problem they have with quitting smoking is not that they miss the tobacco necessarily but that they miss the physical act of smoking, and the destressing relief it can bring.
We realise that smoking THC-rich cannabis is not suitable for everyone and may well not even be legal in the area you’re living in. However, there is a growing range of CBD cigarettes which feature a maximum of 0.3% THC (the legal limit in many countries) that people are finding extraordinarily beneficial for the process of quitting smoking.
CBD Over Nicotine
The power of nicotine is so much stronger than advertising ever could be. Despite worldwide ad campaigns that nicotine is the biggest avoidable cause of death, people are still smoking. And it’s not just a few people either, in fact, it’s about 20% of the world’s population. That’s around 1 billion people the world over who aren’t convinced by the pictures of blackened lungs or missing throats you can see in some of the more overt cigarette container warnings.
According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), “Research suggests that nicotine may be as addictive as heroin, cocaine, or alcohol.” And what’s more, the CDC found that seven in ten smokers want to stop and half of these try and every year.
Many smokers turn towards e-cigarettes as the solution but what researchers are finding is that the devices may not be helping the problem and in fact, might be just adding to the problem. Instead of decreasing the dependence on cigarettes “the devices actually may have suppressed or delayed quitting among some adult smokers.”
But CBD might be just the thing to help smokers break out of the cycle. In 2013 at the University of London, a study was done experimenting with nicotine usage and CBD. The team of researchers, led by Dr. CJ Morgan, found that “those treated with CBD significantly reduced the number of cigarettes smoked by ~40% during treatment” while “placebo treated smokers showed no differences in the number of cigarettes smoked”.
This indicates to researchers that they can break the habit of smoking tobacco by replacing it with the far more beneficial habit of taking CBD weather it be CBD tinctures or better yet our own hemp cigarettes. In effect, it replaces the reward system that the brain creates when it takes on a habit as hardwired into the brain as smoking tobacco.
Choose Wild Hempettes
Hemp cigarettes may offer users a way to replace their addiction to tobacco with something that can be controlled more effectively and provide benefits to their body. That’s where products like Wild Hemp’s Ettes come in. These are hemp cigarettes made entirely from organic hemp flowers which contain a strong dose of CBD. The flowers of hemp are where the most powerful CBD is found. Wild Hemp claim that their “cigarettes”, or Hempettes, can induce a calming and soothing effect similar to the rush that nicotine can give but without the negative consequences.
Each hemp cigarette contains 0.3 % THC which is the legal limit in most countries and is just enough to work in conjunction with the CBD to create something called the entourage effect. An entire article on its own is needed to understand what the entourage effect can do but the bottom line is that with it you can reap a lot more benefits from your CBD. Each Hempette contains around 10mg of CBD per gram which is more than enough for most people.Read this for more information on the difference between CBD and THC. On top of all the aforementioned benefits, CBD works as an anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, and there is a whole list of other benefits that people swear by. If that’s not enough of a reason to try giving the cigarettes a kick we don’t know what else would be.
