WHAT IS CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s one of 104 chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant and has become an increasingly popular and trending natural ingredient. CBD is said to have a myriad of possible benefits and unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) - the primary psychoactive element in marijuana - CBD cannot get you high.

WHAT IS CBD OIL WAX?

CBD oil wax is what is known as an extract, concentrate, or dab. It’s a concentrated form of CBD which is created by using a solvent - such as butane- to extract cannabinoids into a very concentrated form. The end result is usually referred to a wax, shatter, budder, or butane hash oil (BHO), depending on it’s consistency. CBD wax oil is a popular method of consumption as concentrates are usually very potent and pure.

WHAT DOES CBD DO?

CBD works by reacting with the body's endocannabinoid system to speed up regulation function of the brain, endocrine (hormones), and immune tissues. All cannabinoids, including CBD are able to produce these effects by attaching to our main cannabinoid receptors, known as CB1 and CB2 - these are present throughout the body but many are in the brain.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE CBD TO WORK?

The short answer is that everyone is different and some might feel the effects of CBD quicker than others. For some, the results are immediate and users can notice better sleep and relaxation from the first time they take the supplement. For others, it’s similar to taking a new vitamin and it could the body one or two weeks to adjust. The important thing is to be patient when taking CBD. The quickest way to get CBD into your system is through vaping and this usually takes five to ten minutes. The second quickest way is sublingually (20-40 minutes).

HOW IS CBD OIL MADE?

CBD oil is made during an extraction process with the cannabis plant. The plant is soaked in solvent, the solvent is distracted, and the CBD oil remains.

WHAT IS CO2 EXTRACTED HEMP OIL?

CO2 extracted hemp oil is hemp oil which is extracted from the hemp plant using CO2.

WHAT DOES THE CO2 EXTRACTION METHOD INCLUDE?

The most common method for the extraction of CBD and hemp oil is with CO2 and generally manufacturers will use supercritical CO2 extraction as it is highly effective. This method works by using a closed loop system where the CO2 is cooled and the pressure is slowly increased, resulting in a solvent like substance. Whilst in this state the CO2 is passed through a chamber alongside the plant matter, it then pulls out the cannabinoids and terpenes in the plant.

CAN YOU GET HIGH OFF OF CBD?

No, CBD is non-psychoactive compound and will not cause feelings of ‘high’. CBD products will either contain no THC or less than 0.3% THC.

NO THC VS. LESS THAN 0.3% - WHICH IS BETTER?

It’s said that CBD can work much more effectively when combined with THC and this is all down to what is called the ‘entourage effect’. This means that the two components when combined interact and work better within our bodies to create a stronger effect. The THC basically enables CBD to do its job better. On the other hand however, 0% THC can also be very effective in producing unique health benefits and is suitable for many people.

WHAT IS HEMP EXTRACT?

Hemp extract is hemp that is normally derived from the seeds and stalks of the hemp plant. This means that it does not contain the same amount of cannabinoids found in cannabis derived CBD and will only contain trace amounts of THC.

WHAT IS A CBD TINCTURE?

A CBD tincture is an extract of CBD from the cannabis plant dissolved in MCT(medium-chain triglycerides). Tinctures are highly convenient and also tend to have a pretty long shelf life, to consume you simply place under the tongue where it can be easily absorbed into the bloodstream after 2-3 minutes. It’s one of the quickest ways to get CBD into your system and the dosage can be increased or decreased depending on the number of drops taken.

HOW DO YOU TAKE A CBD TINCTURE?

The endocannabinoid system is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids. It regulates the function of the brain, endocrine (hormones), and immune tissues. It was identified in the early 90s by a group of researchers who were exploring the well known cannabinoid THC. The ECS however exists in everyone's bodies even if you don’t use cannabis and so far we know that it plays a role in regulating a range of processes like sleep, mood, appetite, memory, reproduction and fertility.

IS CBD OIL ADDICTIVE?

No, CBD or CBD oil is not addictive and recent scientific evidence has shown that CBD could in fact be a possible effective method of helping to treat some substance abuse related symptoms. As the chemical compound is non-toxic and non-psychoactive.

WILL CBD MAKE ME FAIL A DRUG TEST?

In short, no, CBD alone cannot make you fail a drug test. However if you are not using a pure CBD extract you should be wary of the THC content in your product. If you do have to undergo a drug test perhaps for a sports team or even in a new workplace chances are that they will be screening for cannabis or something more sinister. At the moment there are currently no known testing specifically for CBD and due to the non-psychoactive element of this compound it is likely that there will be in the future.

IS CBD OIL LEGAL?

CBD and hemp products are federally legal throughout the US and its territories. CBD oil is also completely legal in the UK and Canada.

WHAT DOES USDA-CERTIFIED CBD MEAN?

USDA-certified is an organic labelling term that indicated food or other agricultural products, in this case CBD, have been grown and produced through organisational approved methods. The organic standards describe the specific requirements that must be verified by the official USDA-accredited certifying agents before products can be legally be labelled USDA organic. USDA simply stands the U.S department of agriculture.
